Ich buchte den Ausflug von Deutschland aus
über email. Gil war schon super bei der Beschreibung seiner Tour. Er
holte uns direkt am Pier ab. Er ist ein Wahnsinnstyp, der seinen
Amazonas einfach liebt. Mit Leidenschaft, Witz und hervorragenden
Kenntnissen, war er der beste Reiseführer den ich je erlebt habe. Und
ich habe wirklich schon viele kennengelernt. Die Tour war das Beste,
was wir im Amazonas-Gebiet erlebt haben. Wir sahen endlich Tiere im
Regenwald und die rosa Delphine waren auch zu sehen. Super, Super,
Super. Vielen Dank Gil. Wir wünschen Dir alles Gute für die Zukunft.

“Wonderful tour of the Amazon flood plains, highlight of the entire cruise”
We went on a tour with Gil Serique when our cruise ship docked in
Santarem. It was a miserable day in the morning with constant rain but
that did not slow Gil down. The rain eventually stopped in the afternoon
but it really did not detract very much form our expedition. We boarded
a river boat and took off down the Amazon and then branched off into
smaller creeks in the flood plain. Gil is without a doubt the most
enthusiastic person you will ever be around. He promised we would see
all sorts of wildlife and we certainly did. Birds, sloths, monkeys,
fish, dolphins etc. were everywhere. Gil and his helpers did an
excellent job of spotting and identifying the wildlife and moving the
boat in for a closer look. Additionally the snacks of local food and
drink he kept bringing up were great. I had been on a tour provided by
the ship earlier in the trip but it was no comparison to Gil's offering.
We spent about 5 to 6 hours on the boat and enjoyed every minute. Gil
is such a nice person and extremely knowledgeable of the area and it's
history. This tour was without a doubt one of the best things I have
ever done. It really gave me a better idea of what the wild Amazon is
like. I highly recommend Gil. I felt safe and comfortable at all times
and the tour was worth every penny.

Oops another new and jolly nice Review on Trip Advisor
“The best day trip of our 2 week cruise”
Before our cruise my husband and I booked a
tour with Gil Serique for our day in Santarem. The rest of the party
comprised 3 couples from our ship who had booked independently.
We had an extremely enjoyable day with Gil; on his boat, ashore and in small boats. We saw an amazing amount of birdlife and wildlife including many 3-toed sloths and rare pink river dolphins, and were thoroughly entertained and educated throughout the day by Gil. We don’t think we have ever met a happier person on the planet than Gil, and his enthusiasm for birdlife, nature, local history and providing us with local delicacies and drinks was infectious.
Gil was ably assisted by the boat captain, his cousin who roasted cashew nuts for us in the forest, and a local guide who could spot a 3-toed sloth a mile off!
Thank you Gil for providing us with a very memorable day.
If you intend to spend the day out with Gil, and we recommend you do, don't forget your camera and binnoculars.

New Review on Trip Advisor
“Amazon River Cruise and Walk”
We did a half day group tour off of our cruise ship with Gil for a short
distance out of Santarem. There are two things that you should know.
First, though we did not visit an unspoiled national park area (you need
to go a much longer distance for that), Gil nevertheless did a great
job exposing us to native flora and fauna, as well explaining the
sociopolitical ups and downs of local Amazon society. Second, Gil is
tremendously entertaining. He goes a mile a minute with his thoughts,
and you may have some trouble following his weaving of threads, but I
guarantee that you will learn more in an hour with him than you would in
a day with somebody else. Gil's depth of knowledge is bottomless, and
his good nature relentless. Get him to tell you about the travails of
his family attempting to adjust to the region's new economic reality -
fascinating and sad. If you are in the Santarem locale, Gil is your man!

Avventura ed immersione nella natura...”
Abbiamo trascorso da Gil diversi giorni
nell'agosto 2014. L'Amazzonia era una delle tappe del giro per il
Brasile, ma Gil l'ha trasformata nella più avventurosa e incredibile. Ci
è venuto a recuperare in aeroporto, ci ha fatto accomodare da lui (è
una dimora per backpacker, gente zaino in spalla, spartana e semplice,
per cui, nel caso, chiedete per un albergo), ci ha accolto in casa,
lasciandoci liberi di muoverci dove volevamo, ci ha portato in una
indimenticabile crociera sul fiume Tapajos e sul Rio delle Amazzoni
(imperdibile vedere dove i due fiumi si incontrano, ma non mescolano mai
le acque, per km e km), la visita al mercato del pesce di Santarem
(delfini rosa!!!) e soprattutto, l'indimenticabile notte all'addiaccio
dentro la foresta amazzonica primaria, a dormire sulle amache e a
mangiare pesce cucinato sulla brace e a scarpinare in giro per avvistare
animali, traccie e per visitare il luogo dove è nato e cresciuto, che
ora è parte del parco protetto . Gil è una persona fuori dal comune,
incredibile,è un tuttologo dell'Amazzonia, è un vulcano di idee, parla
un ottimo inglese ed è anche una persona di compagnia! Si circonda di
persone speciali, come la nostra dolcissima cuoca Nelly, o come Celso,
il cugino tuttofare. Se passate da quelle parti dovete, e ve lo ripeto,
dovete andare da lui, anche solo per salutarlo, scambiare due parole e
bervi una Caipirina delle sue. Non ve ne pentirete.
