Tapajos River


...is amongst the ten largest Amazon river's tributaries. It is almost 2000km, (Madeira,and Rio Negro rivers are almost is twice longer) Wallace has classified it as a clear water river. In everyone's who is seen it opinion is by farthe most beautiful and probably one of the least polluted river in the world. In the 70's heavy gold mining activities was carried in its headwaters. Fordland(formerly called Boa Vista) was settled on the banks of in 1920's. Boim, well-known Jweish community is just below Ford's place.
